Introduction on Principles of Adaptive and Re-use : Meaning of Adaptive and Re-use, Re-use Considerations and its Effects on Surrounding Environment, Disturbance Considerations on the Adaptive and Re-use of Historical Buildings, Legal and Design Requirements on the Re-use of Built Heritage; Traditional Construction Design Concepts : Comparison between the Traditional and Modern Design Concept on Lighting and Air Ventilation, Effects of New Lighting System and Air Ventilation on Built Heritage, Conserve or Strengthen the Characteristic of Built Heritage, Concept of Humidity and Permeable Building Shell; Action Plan and Long Term Management of Built Heritage : Modernization of Built Heritage according to Legal and End User Requirements, Effects on the Development of Surrounding Properties; Site Visit.
Current management personnel in building repair and maintenance works, with a recognised certificate or above in construction fields, and a minimum 3 years or above related working experience. Holder of “Introductory Course on Conservation of Built Heritage” certificate will be priority admission.
