Trainees are required to fulfill the following requirements:
- Fresh graduates of the one-year Certificate in Construction Programme offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction or Fresh graduates of the one-year Diploma in Construction Programme or graduates of individual short courses offered by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction or graduates of ITCTS.
Applicable to graduates of the following Hong Kong Institute of Construction Programmes:

* Trainee aged under 19 entering into designated trades specified by the Apprenticeship Ordinance should register the apprenticeship contract at the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship of the Vocational Training Council. Please contact the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship or Hong Kong Institute of Construction for details.
First Year: $15,000 or $24,500
(HKIC subsidies employers $5,000 monthly as allowance to trainees)
Second Year: $20,000 or $26,500
(HKIC subsidies employers $6,000 monthly as allowance to trainees)
- Retention Bonus
If a trainee performs satisfactorily in the first year and passes the interim assessment, a bonus of HK$20,000 will be issued to the trainee.
- Completion Bonus
If a trainee performs satisfactorily throughout the entire programme period and passes the final skill assessment, a completion bonus of HK$30,000 will be issued to the trainee.
The employer who is going to apply for this programme shall meet at least one of the following requirements:
(i) Member of the Hong Kong Construction Association; or
(ii) Contractors who have paid levy to the CIC within the past 5 yeas (counted from the application date); or
(iii) Sub-Contractors who is currently under direct employment of those contractors mentioned in (i) or (ii); or
(iv) Member of the Hong Kong Construction Sub-Contractors Association; or
(v) Member of the Hong Kong Plumbing & Sanitary Ware Trade Association; or
(vi) Member of the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors; or
(vii) Member (Employer) of trade Unions in relation to constrcution; or
(viii) Specialist Trade Contractors and the Sub-contractors registered under the Sub-contractor Registration Scheme or submit their registration applications before programme commencement; or
(ix) Owner of refurbishment, repair and maintenance projects or new projects (owner refers to items a, b, c below)
a) Owner: property holder; or
b) Developer: shall be a member of “The Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong (REDA)”; or
c) Property Management Company: shall be a member of “The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies”; or
(x) If the Applicant does not fall into the above approved categories, the application will be submitted to the Sub-committee for consideration and approval; and
(xi) Has been joined the CICATP Approved Employer List.
