HKIC participated in the "Education and Career Expo 2022" organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council from 21 - 24 July. The main design element of the booth this year was "Modular Integrated Construction" (MiC), and other innovative technology of construction industry were also showcased. The "Career Progression Pathway" (CPP) which has been fully implemented this year was being introduced. HKIC invited lecturers, instructors, WorldSkills contestants and students to hold three seminars at the "Construction Theme Day - Exploring Construction" and the "Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Day".
The booth displayed exhibits of innovation and technology in construction industry, including: 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology and visualisation techniques, wearable human augmentation devices, and welding simulators. There were also joinery and painting craft workshops allowing the public to create exclusive souvenirs on the spot. The "2021 Construction Industry Machinery Operation Competition Award Presentation Ceremony" was held on the Construction Theme Day, and awards were presented to the winning teams of the five machinery operation competitions.
The event attracted more than 1,000 secondary school students, teachers, parents and members of the public.
