Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) is honored to have Ir HON Chi-keung, former Permanent Secretary for Development (Works) of the Development Bureau, to share his life and career development experiences with students and staff in a relaxed and interactive setting on 18 December 2023, which inspired students in their personal and career planning after graduation.

In his sharing, Mr. HON shared his most memorable project throughout his career, the drainage improvement works on Nathan Road, to illustrate how he adopted innovative thinking, professional judgement, effective management and collaboration skills to significantly reduce the project duration from 5 years to just 9 months, and successfully solved the flooding issue in Mong Kok. Mr. HON’s rich experience has greatly benefited the students, preparing them for future success in their personal and career development.
