Meet our competitor in Wall and Floor Tiling of the WorldSkills Competition, DAI Ka-chun, Stephen who graduated from Certificate in Construction (Bricklaying & Tiling) at Hong Kong Institute of Construction. Stephen was the Champion of Wall and Floor Tiling in the 2nd Hong Kong Construction Skills Competition, earning the qualification to compete as a finalist after training and assessment.

Stephen mentioned Wall and Floor Tiling focuses on precise cutting and basic skills. The proportions of cement or mortar will affect the smoothness and fineness of the wall. He can create his own design by using tiles in various colours, as well as using light bricks to build three-dimensional small walls and platforms.

Participating in the WorldSkills Competition allows him to undergo trainings and participate in skills exchange competitions in different places to exchange and learn the skills from fellow competitions, striving to improve his weaknesses and upskill his abilities. Stephen is currently undergoing intensive training at Zhejiang, aiming to improve his concentration and detail oriented as other competitors, to persevere in making the work perfect even encountering difficulties.
