Hong Kong Institute of Construction (HKIC) has been providing quality construction training in Hong Kong for over 45 years.
The WorldSkills Competition, hailed as the “Skills Olympics”, provides a platform to exchange the skills and knowledge for the competitors. The 48th WorldSkills Competition will take place at Shanghai in September 2026. The Construction Industry Council will participate in 8 skills competitions, including Bricklaying, Cabinetmaking (newly joined item), Concrete Construction Work, Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing and Heating, Wall and Floor Tiling, as well as Welding.
The WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025, jointly organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC), the Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA), is now open for registration. The CIC will select outstanding participants from the competition to undergo further training and selection. Selected participants may have a chance to represent Hong Kong to participate in the WorldSkills Competition 2026.
