Hong Kong Institute of Construction has launched the revamped Advanced Diploma Programme in 2022/23 academic year. The programme is designed for secondary 6 school leavers with certain level of academic attainment who wish to pursue a technician or supervisory career in the construction industry.
All Programmes of Advanced Diploma, are free tuition and with subsidy, are recognized as QF Level 4 under the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework.

Programme Features
The 2-year programme which includes site practice and on-the-job training, is designed to meet the needs of the industry. During the training period, students will receive comprehensive and specialised technical training on proper work skills and professional site supervision techniques, so as to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills for construction supervision. At the early stage of the programme, HKIC will start matching students with employers. Students with outstanding performance may receive scholarships from employers.
There are 4 individual Advance Diploma programmes, covering the latest technologies in the construction industry (such as MiC, DfMA, BIM and DWSS). In addition, the programmes offer common modules and whole person development training, including voluntary service and sports training to develop the selfawareness, analytical thinking, problem solving skills of the students.
Further Studies and Careers
Upon completion of the programme, graduates can be employed by contractors to become project supervisors, project co-ordinators, site supervisors or assistant surveyors, etc, after accumulating work experience and progressing with continuing education.
HKIC had signed Memorandum of Intent with Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), Hong Kong Chu Hai College and Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) to provide articulation pathway for Advanced Diploma graduates.
Graduates are eligible for exemption of up to 200 credits when enrolling in the relevant degree programmes (360 credits) at the University College Of Estate Management (UCEM). Graduates of Advanced Diploma in Quantity Surveying who articulate to degree programme that lead to membership with the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS) and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Graduates of Advanced Diploma programme are eligible for credits exemption in construction related degree programmes offered by the Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), as below:

Recognition
Upon completion of the programme and met the requirements of graduation, a graduate certificate issued by HKIC, Certificate for Mandatory Basic Safety Training (Construction Work) (Green card) , Registered Semi-skilled Worker for Leveller and Certificate for Construction Safety Supervisors will be awarded.
The Advanced Diploma in Building Construction Supervision programme is recognised by the Building Department of the HKSAR Government as fulfilling the minimum academic qualifications for TCP T2 to T3 for site supervision under the streams of Authorised Person and Registered Contractor (AP/RC).
The Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Supervision programme is recognised by the Building Department of the HKSAR Government as fulfilling the minimum academic qualifications for TCP T2 to T3 for site supervision under the streams of Authorised Person and Registered Structural Engineer, Registered Geotechnical Engineer and Registered Contractor (AP/RSE/RGE/RC).
The Advanced Diploma in Building Services Supervision programme is recognised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government as satisfying the academic qualification for registration as Grade B Registered Electrical Worker. Graduates with required work experience can apply for registration as Grade B Registered Electrical Worker.
