How do we get to the Kwai Chung campus? |
Take the MTR and transfer to the bus Take bus 37M from Exit B of Kwai Hing Station of the MTR, get off at Shing Fung House bus stop in Kwai Shing Estate, turn into Kwai Hop Street next to the YMCA, and walk for about 5 minutes (400 meters) until you arrive at the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (map).
Take the MTR and transfer to a minibus From Exit D of Kwai Fong MTR Station: Take minibus 89M/89S and get off at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), then walk for about 5 minutes to the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction.

How to register for a course? |
Applicants can download the application form from the safety training course website at www.hkic.edu.hk and settle the tuition fee through e-payment. Submit the completed form together with a copy of the e-payment receipt through the following channels (applicable to non-certificates) Course): **Cash Payment Not Accepted**
(1) Email to [email protected]; (2) During office hours, bring your identity document and register in person at the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction or the Construction Industry Council Service Centres; (3) Fax to 2100 9576 (4) Mail to the Construction Industry Council, 38th Floor, COSL Sunrise Centre, 56 Tsun Yip Street, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong;
Certificate Courses Students are not required to pay tuition fees when submitting applications. After the Institute arranges a class for students, it will issue a payment notice to applicants individually. |
How do I know the class schedule? |
Once the class is formed, applicants will receive the class schedule via text message (SMS). Applicants can check their course application status via this link: https://apps.cic.hk/safety_training_enq_sys Shall the system notify us of any undelivered SMS messages, the students concerned will receive our Whatsapp message or phone call. For applicants who have yet to receive the course schedule two (2) months from the application form submission, please contact us via our enquiry hotline 2100 9000. |
How do we pay the course fee? |

Any fees required for course rescheduling application? |
There is one-time complimentary course rescheduling. For the second rescheduling is required, students will need to pay a handling fee of HK$50. |

A12 course fees |
The new certificate fee for the A12 course is $170; The A12 course renewal fee is $110. Applicants can apply for renewal half a year before the expiration of the A12 Silver Card and within 3 months after the expiration. |
Class Arrangements |
When will the class start after I submitted the application form, course fee and the required documents? |
We will update the class schedule in a timely manner based on the needs, resources and availability of individual courses. Students will receive the latest class schedule notification via SMS. |
If the A12S/A12 practical class needs to be rescheduled due to bad weather conditions, when will a make-up class be arranged? |
We will arrange make-up classes for students within ten working days, and will notify students of class arrangements via SMS. Due to the large number of the A12/A12S class applications, a longer lead time for the class schedule notification will be required. We will notify the students via Whatsapp or phone call in case individual students have yet to receive the SMS. If you have not received the course schedule within one (1) month, please call 2100 9000 for enquiry. |

How can I check materials needed for class after I have received the course admission notice? |
If course applicants have received a course admission notice, please read and abide by the Instructions for Students.

How long does it take before I receive any class schedule information about the Construction Safety Supervisor course? |
The current waiting time for courses is approximately 3-6 months. Upon receipt of student application forms, we will notify students of class and payment arrangements via email. |
When will the class begin after I register for Safety Training Course for Site Management Staff or the Refresher course? |
The current waiting time for courses is 2-3 months. After receiving the student application forms, we will notify them of class and payment arrangements by email. |
Course change arrangements |
How do I apply for course rescheduling? |
Only one-time course rescheduling will be accommodated on a complimentary basis. If applicants find the rescheduled time unfit, they will need to apply for a rescheduling at handling fee $50 each time. Application fees are non-refundable. |
Can I apply for a refund? |
If the applicant wants to cancel the registration due to illness, repeated registration, etc., he or she can apply for a refund from the college. For details, please call the staff at 2100 9000.
If a student is absent from class due to personal reasons, the college will not arrange a refund. |
If I am unable to attend after registering, can someone else attend the course on my behalf? |
If a student fails to attend the course he/she has registered for, he or she will be deemed to have given up automatically and cannot be replaced by another student. The college will arrange for other students to make up the place. |

How do I replace a lost certificate? |
We will not reissue certificates but only provide proof that students have completed the course. If you need the course completion proof, you can contact us at 2100 9000, fill out the "Card Replacement Application" form and pay the $50 handling fee. We will notify students to collect the proof at our Safety Training Centre. If you need to receive it by mail, you will have to pay an additional $35 for postage. The waiting time for a replacement certificate is usually 4 to 5 weeks. |
How do I replace the lost Mandatory Basic Safety Training Course (Construction Work) (green card)? |
If the applicant loses the safety card issued by the Construction Industry Council, please report the loss to the police station first. The loss report must indicate that the lost Mandatory Basic Safety Training Course (Construction Work) (green card) is issued by the Construction Industry Council. The applicant will need to bring the identity card and the lost report slip to the Workers Registration Service Centre or the Safety Training Centre of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction to get a replacement, and pay a replacement fee of $50. |
How long does it take to issue a silver card? |
After completing the course, students who pass the exam will generally receive a notification within ten (10) working days to receive a silver card certificate. |
Can I arrange for a third party to collect the certificate on my behalf? |
Yes. Please fill in the Authorization Form for Collecting of the certificate and entrust the designated person to collect it on your behalf. The person collecting the certificate on behalf of the applicant must bring the original copy of the certificate collection notice, together with a photocopy of the ID card (students are required to sign on the photocopy of his/her ID card), and hand it over to the person collecting the certificate at the Kwai Chung campus for the certificate collection. |
A12S enrollment arrangements |
To register for the A12S course, applicants must hold a valid A12 Silver Card. |
Admission requirements for confined Space Safety Training Course for Competent Persons Engaged in DSD’s Works |
Applicants must hold a Confined Space Approved Worker Certificate from an organization recognized by the Labour Department. |
