Certificate in Construction Programme
It is conducted for youngsters who have completed junior secondary education and intend to pursue a vocational career in the construction industry by specialising in one of the key construction trades.
*The increment of monthly allowance from $3,600 by $1,200 to $4,800 will become effective upon funding approval by the Legislative Council Finance Committee.
Training Mode
The one-year training courses focus on training of techniques and skills to meet the needs of the trades in the industry. Comprehensive general studies are available to enhance the communication skills and knowledge on work ethics, safety, and computer application of the students, so that they can contribute to the construction industry. The programme has 8 individual disciplines. In addition, the programme offers whole person development training, including voluntary service (30 hours) and sport training (60 hours) to develop the self-awareness, analytical thinking, problem solving skills of the students.
The courses also include up-to-date theoretical training (Note 3) to equip the students with the specialised knowledge for better prospect.
Schedule & Venue
Monday to Friday : 8:20am to 5:00pm
Saturday : 8:20am to 12:30pm
Main teaching venue: HKIC - Sheung Shui Campus
During the training period, students may be arranged to attend classes in different campuses.
