Training Mode
The one-year training courses focus on training of techniques and skills to meet the needs of the trades in the industry. Comprehensive general studies are available to enhance the communication skills and knowledge on work ethics, safety, and computer application of the students, so that they can contribute to the construction industry. The programme has 8 individual disciplines. In addition, the programme offers whole person development training, including voluntary service (30 hours) and sport training (60 hours) to develop the self-awareness, analytical thinking, problem solving skills of the students. The courses also include up-to-date theoretical training to equip the students with the specialised knowledge for better prospect.
Schedule & Venue
Monday to Friday : 8:20am to 5:00pm
Main teaching venue: HKIC - Sheung Shui Campus
During the training period, students may be arranged to attend classes in different campuses.
Further Studies and Careers
Graduates can join the 'Construction Industry Council Approved Technical Talents Training Programmes' and become ’Registered Skilled Workers’ through systematic apprentice training and technical assessment.
Graduates can also complete the part-time "Diploma in Construction" programme, and enrol into the part-time "Professional Diploma in Construction for Specialist Trades”.
Recognition
Upon completion of the programme and passing the intermediate trade test, graduates can register as "Registered Semi-skilled Workers" under the Construction Workers Registration Ordinance. Upon completion of the programme and met the requirements of graduation, a graduate certificate issued by HKIC, Certificate for Mandatory Basic Safety Training (Construction Work) (Green card) and Certificate for Safety Training of Specified Trade (Silver Card) will be awarded (if applicable).
