Advanced Diploma (For DSE students) (Enrollment for the 2021/22 academic year is closed)
Hong Kong Institute of Construction will revamp the Advanced Diploma Programme in 2022/23 academic year. The programme is designed for secondary 6 school leavers with certain level of academic attainment who wish to pursue a technician or supervisory career in the construction industry.

The 2-year programme which includes site practice and on-the-job training, is designed to meet the needs of the industry. During the training period, students will receive a comprehensive and specialised technical training on proper work skills and professional site supervision techniques, so as to equip themselves with the knowledge and skills for construction supervision. At the early stage of the programme, HKIC will start matching students with employers. Students with outstanding performance may receive scholarships from employers.
There are 4 individual Advance Diploma programmes, covering the latest technologies in the construction industry (such as MiC, DfMA, BIM and DWSS). In addition, the programmes offer common modules and whole person development training, including voluntary service and sport training to develop the selfawareness, analytical thinking, problem solving skills of the students.
Schedule and Venue
Monday to Friday : 8:20am to 4:20pm
Saturday : 8:20am to 12:30pm
Main teaching venue: HKIC - Kowloon Bay Campus
During the training period, students may be arranged to attend classes in different campuses.
Further Studies and Careers
Upon completion of the programme, graduates can be employed by contractors to become project supervisors, projecto co-ordinators, site supervisors or assistant surveyors, etc, after accumulating work experience and progressing with continuing education. HKIC is negotiating with other tertiary institutions to provide graduates with articulation pathway for further studies.
Upon completion of the programme and met the requirements of graduation, a graduate certificate issued by HKIC, Mandatory Basic Safety Training Certificate (Construction Work) (Green card), Confined Space Worker Certificate, Certificate of Building Information Modelling (Bim) Basic Modelling Course - Revit and Professional Certificate for Building Information Modelling (BIM) Coordinator will be awarded.
All 4 programmes have been accredited by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers(HKICM). HKIC is actively working for other professional recognition for the programmes.
Contractors Sponsorship Scheme
HKIC cooperates with renowned contractors under this scheme. Students can receive additional training allowance from the contractors for the on-the-job training. Preference for permanent positions will be given to the students who have satisfactory preference when working with the respective contractors.
