Take the MTR and transfer to the bus

Take bus 37M from Exit B of Kwai Hing Station of the MTR, get off at Shing Fung House bus stop in Kwai Shing Estate, turn into Kwai Hop Street next to the YMCA, and walk for about 5 minutes (400 meters) until you arrive at the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction (map).

From Exit D of Kwai Fong MTR Station: Take minibus 89M/89S and get off at the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), then walk for about 5 minutes to the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction.

Applicants can visit the relevant safety training course webpage at www.hkic.edu.hk

(1) Search for the course you want to enroll in and click "Apply Now"

(2) Submit the required information and payment online through the Online Application System (OPAS)

or

Download the application form and pay the tuition fee via JETCO. Submit the completed form together with a copy of the payment receipt through the following channels (applicable to non-certificate courses): **Cash payment is not accepted**

(2) During office hours, bring your identity document and register in person at the Kwai Chung Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction or the Construction Industry Council Service Centres;

Certificate Courses

Students are not required to pay tuition fees when submitting applications. After a class time is arranged for students, the Centre will issue a payment notice to applicants individually.

Online Application System (OPAS)

You can check the "Application History" in your personal account of the Online Application System (OPAS), click "View Application" to enter the course you have registered for, and you can see the class date(s).

You will be notified of the class schedule via text message (SMS), please pay attention to mobile phone text messages.

Certificate Courses

After a class is arranged for students, we will contact the applicant and follow up the admission process and the required tuition payment via email.

If you have not received the class arrangement notification two months after submitting the application form, please call 2100 9000 for enquiry or write to [email protected]

If you apply for a course through the online registration system, you can change from the original class chosen to another class on your own 7 working days before the class begins. There is no need to submit a rescheduling request to the Safety Training Centre.

To apply for class rescheduling for unexpected circumstances, please email to: [email protected] with the following information:

- You full name on the identification document

- The mobile phone number you filled in when registering for the course

- Course enrolled

- Class date(s)

Applicants who have registered in the online registration system can change classes on their own 7 working days before the start date of the class. It is free of charge.

If you apply for rescheduling through mail or email, we will reschedule for you once on a complimentary basis. If a second rescheduling is required, the student will need to provide reasons for our consideration and pay a handling fee of HK$100.

The new certificate fee for the A12 course is $170;

The A12 course renewal fee is $110. Applicants can apply for renewal half a year before the expiration of the A12 Silver Card and within 3 months after the expiration.



Class arrangements

If you submit your application and the required documents via the Online Application System (OPAS – Safety Training), and complete payment, you will be able to view whether you have successfully enrolled in the selected class. If a class is full, you will be required to select any class available for the course.

You will also receive an SMS 3 days before the class start date, with details about class date, time and notes for students.

If you apply for courses other than the online system, the Safety Training Centre will reach out to you about the class schedule. The response time will subject to availability of resources at the Institute, such as venue, instructors and weather conditions. You will receive notifications of the latest class arrangements via SMS or email.

If you applied the course through the online application system (OPAS), you will be notified of the next available class scheduled for you.  

Applicants who do not use the online registration system for enrolment, please note: a make-up class will be arranged for you within ten working days and you will receive a SMS notification about the class schedule arrangement.

Please pay attention to the SMS on your mobile phone. Due to the overwhelming applications of the A12/A12S trade classes, please expect a considerable time taken for the class rescheduling.

If the system indicates SMS delivery failure, we will reach individual enrollees via Whatsapp text messages or phone calls.

If students who did not register through the online registration system have not received the class notification after 3 months, they can register through

However, due to the large number of applicants and students, the college needs to prioritize responses based on the urgency of individual inquiries. The response will take time, so please be patient.

If students who have not registered through the online application system have received an SMS indicating that they have successfully applied for the course, but have not received the class notification after 3 to 4 months, they can also contact the Safety Training Center of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction through the hotline and email. However, due to the large number of applicants and students, it will take a long time to wait for a reply.

The current waiting time for courses is approximately 3-6 months. Upon receipt of the application forms, we will undergo a vetting process and notify successful enrollees of class and payment arrangements via email.

The current waiting time for SMS course is 2-3 months. After receiving the application form, we will notify enrollees of class and payment arrangements by email.

You can now apply for the SMSR course via the online application system and enrol in the next available class immediately. 



Course change arrangements

If the online registration system has been set up, students will be able to transfer classes on the system for free 7 working days before the start of the course, and the system will also confirm the class transfer arrangements immediately.

Students/applicants who do not apply online please note:

Students can only reschedule once for free. If the time arranged after the rescheduling is still inappropriate, students will need to apply for a rescheduling fee of $100. Registration fees are also non-refundable.

If the applicant wants to cancel the registration due to illness, repeated registration, etc., he or she can apply to the college for a refund 7 working days before the start of the course.

If a student is absent from class due to personal reasons, NO refund will be arranged. 

If a student cannot attend the registered course, it will be considered an automatic withdrawal. You cannot arrange for someone else to attend in your place. The institution will arrange for other students to fill the spot.

Others

The institution will not reissue certificates but can provide proof of course completion. If you need this document, please call 2100 9000 to contact staff, fill out the "Replacement Application Form," and pay a $50 handling fee. The institution will notify you to collect it at the center. If mailing is required, an additional $35 postal fee applies. The waiting time for reissuing the certificate is generally one month.

If the applicant has lost a certification issued by the Construction Industry Council, such as the Green Card, Gas Welding, or Labour Department Confined Space Certificate, they should first report the loss to the police. The loss report must specify that the lost Green Card was issued by the Construction Industry Council. Then, the applicant can bring their ID card and the loss report to the Worker Registration Service Centre or the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Safety Training Centre in person to apply for a replacement, and pay a $50 replacement fee.

After completing the course, students who pass the exam will generally receive a notification to collect their Silver Card certificate in about one month.

Yes, it is possible. Please fill out the certificate collection authorization form to authorize someone else to collect it. The authorized person must bring the original certificate collection notice and a photocopy of the ID card (the student should sign the photocopy) to the Safety Training Centre at Kwai Chung Campus for collection.

To register for the A12S course, applicants must hold a valid A12 Silver Card.

Applicants must hold a Confined Space Approved Worker Certificate from an organization recognized by the Labour Department.
